PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
Public SpeakingMichigan REGAP is available to send trained volunteers to speak to your members or classroom about the plight of the racing greyhound.

Subject matter can be tailored to meet any time constraints and the needs of your audience and can include the following:

  • History of racing in America
  • The National Greyhound Association: How is the greyhound industry run?
  • Overbreeding of greyhounds
  • Training Practices
  • Care of greyhounds while racing
  • Abuse and Neglect
  • Estimated number killed
  • Financial instability of greyhound race tracks
  • The Greyhound Adoption Movement
  • Why adoption alone perpetuates the viscious cycle of overbreeding and killing
  • What you can do to help
Michigan REGAP has spoken to various organizations around the state, including Rotary Clubs, Jaycees, Veterinarian organizations, fraternities and sororities, other animal organizations, etc.

REGAP has also spoken to classrooms with children of all ages. Of course, allowing the audience to actually meet rescued greyhounds during the presentation goes a long way in helping people understand why we need to end greyhound racing.
